The one-day excursion includes:

  • a cutting-edge 2-hour workshop about playfulness in design
  • a visit to LEGO House
  • transportation from and back to Aarhus.

As a compelling add-on to the UX Nordic, we invite you to enhance your event journey with a mesmerizing tour focused on storytelling and multisensory exploration. Kickstart your day with an impactful two-hour workshop led by Dr. Yiota Demetriou, where you'll delve into the depths of multisensory design and play, uncovering its powerful potential in shaping user experiences.

Following a refreshing lunch break, we'll venture to the iconic LEGO House in Billund, the birthplace of the legendary brick. Here, you'll be immersed in an environment brimming with creativity and playful inspiration.

The bus tour and lunch are included in the ticket and you will be back in Aarhus by 6 p.m.

About the Workshop 

Sensory Alchemy: meaningful design through storytelling and multisensory play

In today’s ever-evolving and experience-centric landscape, businesses and organisations constantly strive to engage and connect with their audiences profoundly and meaningfully. Multisensory design, which artfully integrates elements of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell alongside the transformative power of play and storytelling, unveils a groundbreaking approach to crafting truly immersive and inclusive experiences. This interactive workshop delves into the convergence of multisensory design and play principles, empowering participants to acquire the knowledge and tools necessary to conceptualise and create captivating, playfully meaningful, and inclusive experiences. Through this journey, participants will explore how multisensory play can ignite creativity, foster collaboration, and ignite a sense of wonder, ultimately leading to innovative and compelling experiences.

Dr Yiota Demetriou (PhD)

Dr Yiota Demetriou is the Head of UX Design and Research at Lyfta, an award-winning ed-tech company that revolutionises learning through captivating and transformative cinematic 360° interactive learning environments. She holds a PhD from Bristol University, where she formerly served as a lecturer in Theatre and Performance. Additionally, she has held teaching and research positions at UWE, Bristol, Bath Spa, and Brunel universities.

About the LEGO House

The "Home of the Brick", is the ultimate experience centre located in Billund - about one hour away form Aarhus - and is the hometown of the LEGO brick. The LEGO House measures  12,000 m2 and is filled with 25 million LEGO bricks, LEGO waterfalls and giant animals and plants. The house offers experiences for everyone who wants to develop creatively and explore the endless possibilities for Learning through Play through the LEGO brick.
