Working across advertising, design and research, Rudi has built, created, launched and shaped some of the most iconic brands, products and experiences that touch billions of people worldwide, whether B2C or B2B.
He is currently a creative director at LEGO Group, leading a multi-discipline creative team whose mission is to empower the builders of tomorrow.
Prior to that he was a hybrid creative director and design strategist at Google Commerce UX where he worked on growth and future-oriented initiatives. He was awarded his first tech patent while working on a design research project that unearthed new business opportunities for Google in Japan. Additionally his work with the Shopping Sustainability team was included in Sundar Pichai’s speech in the UN and as company wide objectives.
Before moving to UX, Rudi was Head of Creative at Google ZOO, a cross-functional in-house creative think tank for brands and agencies. He built a high performing team that won an Emmy Award for innovative use of media.
Prior to Google, Rudi was Pan-European Executive Creative Director at TBWA Paris where he managed Nissan Europe business. Prior to TBWA Paris, Rudi held creative director and senior roles at AKQA, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Crispin Porter + Bogusky (Miami) and Butler Shine Stern & Partners.
Before switching careers to advertising, Rudi was an architect, albeit briefly.
During his career Rudi has been part of “Agency of The Decade” once, and “Agency of The Year” seven times. His work has been recognized at every major award show, from Cannes to One Show to EFFIE, including winning Art Directors Gold Cube twice, Grand Prix, Best in Show and an Emmy Award. Rudi’s work has also been featured in The New York Times Magazine’s “Year In Ideas” issue, Taschen Mobile Case Study and Fast Co Innovation Festival.
